Music is a gift that I was given very early in life. It has been my honor to give that gift back to others, through performance, and education. Growing up in a large musical family, music wasn’t something you just studied, it was away of life. This full engagement with making music is very different from passively listening to a recording. Actively engaging with music is enriching for the mind. It is a way to heal in stressful or emotional times. Making ones own music is rewarding, and challenging and ultimately life affirming. This is why I am so passionate about teaching, and bringing people together to create music together.

I have a minor in music from Western Washington University, have studied privately for many years from some wonderful teachers, and have studied classical guitar at Cornish College of the arts.

As well as teaching music I play mandolin, and compose. My first solo album Just Out Of The Woods was recorded by William Reedy in 2008.
